Digital sculpture, 3D-printed PVC, 2015

Alice Através consists of three sculptures — a head and two hands — created through 3D scanning of my own body. Developed during an artistic residency at MemoFabLab (Latin America Memorial, São Paulo), the piece uses technologies such as Kinect scanning and PVC-based 3D printing.

The figures appear to emerge from within the architecture, crossing through windows or walls, as if attempting to break the boundary between interior and exterior space. This symbolic gesture invites reflection on the limits between the physical body and its digital replicas.

Originally shown in public spaces, the work seeks direct dialogue with the viewer. In its current reinstallation, (2025) it is part of the Pequeno Laboratório de Recriar Humanos project, as one of the first “recreated humans” from digital memory and technical reproduction.

Alice Através é composta por três esculturas — uma cabeça e duas mãos — criadas a partir da digitalização do meu próprio corpo. Desenvolvida durante uma residência artística no MemoFabLab (Memorial da América Latina, São Paulo), a obra utiliza tecnologias como escaneamento 3D com Kinect e impressão 3D em PVC.

As figuras parecem emergir de dentro da arquitetura, atravessando janelas ou paredes, como se tentassem romper a separação entre o espaço interno e o externo. Esse gesto simbólico convida à reflexão sobre os limites entre o corpo físico e suas réplicas digitais.

Originalmente instalada em espaços públicos, a obra busca o diálogo direto com o espectador. Em sua remontagem atual, (2025) integra o projeto Pequeno Laboratório de Recriar Humanos, como um dos primeiros “humanos recriados” a partir da memória digital e da reprodução técnica.
